Dr Callan Reid

Registered Osteopath. B.Sc (Clinical Sci), M.H.Sc (Osteopathy), Adv. Dip (Myotherapy). Osteopathy Australia Member.

Callan developed an early interest in manual therapy while treating his mother, who regularly suffered from migraines. After experiencing first-hand the benefits of manual treatment, his passion was sparked, leading him to study first Myotherapy, and later an Osteopathy.

Callan graduated with an Advanced Diploma in Remedial Massage (Myotherapy) in 2007 and has 8 years of clinical practice. He then decided to further develop both his diagnostic and manual skills, graduating from Victoria university with a Masters of Health Sciences (Osteopathy) and a Bachelor of Clinical Sciences (Osteopathy) in 2017.

Callan was drawn to the principles of Osteopathy, in that the body possesses self-healing mechanisms and it is the job of the therapist to guide the body back to a state of health. From acute sporting injuries, workplace postural strains to longer standing chronic conditions, Callan has helped a wide range of people. Callan’s treatments focus on alleviating the painful symptomatic area, then address the rest of the body and the patient’s lifestyle with the aim to manage and prevent further pain.

In addition to clinic practice, Callan works as a clinical educator at Homesglen TAFE and Endeavour College, helping to train the next Remedial Massage Therapists and Myotherapists. In his free time, Callan enjoys rock climbing, riding his bike and walking his dog along the Darebin creek.
