What to Expect?

After a thorough medical history is taken, your osteopath will perform the necessary physical examinations that may include motion testing, structural assessment, palpation of soft tissues and any relevant neurological and orthopaedic tests.

A thorough history and examination is necessary to ascertain whether it is safe to treat, and whether or not it is safe to use particular osteopathic techniques.

Treatment typically involves a variety of techniques that cater for the individuals treatment requirements. These may include but are not limited to: soft tissue manipulation, stretching techniques, joint manipulation, indirect release techniques, cranial osteopathy, and visceral osteopathy.

Osteopaths have 5 years University training in medical sciences and the practical skills of osteopathy. Osteopathy is a fully recognised and registered profession and your individual osteopath should be registered with AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency).
